Hey Midcurrent,
With Labor Day behind us, we are now full swing into fall, a new school year, and regular routines in so many areas of our lives. To signal the change in seasons at Midcurrent, we’re hosting our Fall Kick-Off this Sunday which will propel us into a season full of so many opportunities to take another step in a relationship with Jesus and others at Midcurrent. And to set the day apart, we’ll set the lobby and the sidewalk up with photo-ops, face painting, and fall snacks for you to enjoy while you spend the morning with us. And, most important for you to know, we’ll return to our three-service schedule of 8:00am, 9:30am, and 11:00am. Why three services, you ask?? Great question! Within the last year, our Sunday morning attendance has grown so much that we need the extra space in the auditorium, the lobby, the parking lot, and in MC Kids in order to be as hospitable as we can to all of those choosing to make Midcurrent a part of their Sunday morning.
And speaking of attendance growth, I need to take a minute to address the flip side of what is otherwise a really exciting trend. Here’s the reality we are learning in real time. Our ministry to more people is not sustainable with the current number of volunteers who serve on our ministry teams. We feel this the most in MC Kids (which, even in the summer, still hosted 100 kids every Sunday), but it’s true for most teams, from First Impressions to MC Youth and everywhere in between. So I want to challenge you, this fall, to consider how you might leverage your unique gifts to help expand God’s Kingdom through the work we are doing at Midcurrent. It’s also one of the best ways to flex new muscles of faith that could strengthen your relationships with Jesus in a way you never imagined. You can see a list of all our ministry teams, and sign up for the one that is right for you, by CLICKING THIS LINK.
If you are still reading, I want to make sure I invite you to the ONE THING I wish everyone at Midcurrent would do this fall: MC Connections. For three Thursdays in a row, beginning on September 17, we’re hosting an environment that is designed to help you learn the names and the stories of others. This is the quickest, easiest, and most enjoyable way to get to know others who also attend Midcurrent. It’s one of my favorite things that we do, and whether you have been hanging around for a week or for all nine years that we have been around, I hope you’d consider it this fall. You can learn more about it, and register for it, HERE.
Happy fall friends…it’s gonna be a good one. And it all starts this Sunday.
