I have some exciting news to share with you today—our staff is growing!

Over the last year, MC Youth has grown to over 100 students on Wednesday nights. Those in the church and ministry consulting world will tell you that a youth ministry that large can’t be run as effectively as possible with only one youth pastor. After this past year of growth, I think Pastor Jonathan would concur! 🙂 That’s why we began a search this past year in hopes of hiring an associate youth pastor to work alongside Jonathan and continue making MC Youth the most fun, engaging, and influential place for teenagers to learn about Jesus.

I’m pleased to tell you that our search is over, and we will soon be welcoming Sam Yang to the MC staff as our new associate youth pastor.

Sam has an incredible heart for Jesus and for people. He is also a gifted musician and worship leader. In addition to his past worship ministry experience, Sam has spent the last year working in youth ministry and has recently felt God calling him to serve in youth ministry full-time.

Sam’s first day at Midcurrent will be May 18. He brings a ton of talent and enthusiasm to the table, and he will be an awesome addition to our team and our church. We can’t wait for you to meet him and for him to begin contributing to all that God is doing here!

P.S. Speaking of MC Youth, close to 20 teenagers from Midcurrent will be going on a mission trip this summer to Kansas City to love and serve in the name of Jesus—and you can help! This Sunday morning, Nernie’s Bread will be on-site selling amazing sourdough creations. A portion of every purchase will go directly toward the total cost of the trip for each of these students.
