Together For Good

Hey Midcurrent,

Today, I share with you an update that is almost two years in the making! It was in the fall of 2023 that we introduced to you a brand new partnership with Together For Good. Together For Good is an organization that creates pathways for the local church to come alongside vulnerable children and families within the community in a loving and Jesus-like way. The goal is to ensure that no struggling family ever walks alone.

While we as a church were quick to the starting line (which was really encouraging, by the way), the launch of this organization in Wisconsin hit a few unexpected road blocks. But I am pleased to say it is finally ready to launch, and we are one of three local churches partnering together to make this initiative a reality in western Wisconsin.  Through emergency crisis hosting, respite care, as well as ongoing relational support and parent advocacy, we’ll have an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in real practical ways during some of the most pivotal and fragile moments any family could ever experience.

We look forward to sharing more information in the weeks to come, but right now I have just one important detail to share with you—a “Save The Date” for Tuesday night, October 21.

If you raised your hand a couple years ago to be a host family or parent advocate–or if you think you might be interested in this opportunity–mark your calendar for a training on October 21 right here at Midcurrent. Alternative training options will be available at later dates in other locations, but this may be the most advantageous as it is the first training offered so close to home!

This Foundational Volunteer Training on October 21 will be from 5:30-9:00pm with dinner served.  To register, visit www.tfgood.com/wisconsin and scroll down the information section about this local training.

Is the training a big commitment? Yes it is. But it is also a big calling to step into the gap for kids and families who need to see the love of God in action. And I am so grateful to be a part of a church who continues to rise to the challenge.

Looking forward to what’s to come!

Thanks!
