Hey Midcurrent,
I sat down to write this email in the small window between the time when the middle school and the elementary school buses pick up my kids in the neighborhood. When my daughter walked out the front door at 6:25am (yes you read that correctly), it became official: summer was over. I’m sure many of you are adjusting to the new rhythm of the school year or even just the routine that fall will bring to your daily life. I know this time of year can get a little hectic as you adapt to a new pace of life or even try to fit in a few last adventures, and so I want to make sure I put TWO THINGS on your radar.
1. This Saturday, August 29, is our End of Summer Party from 4-7pm. You are invited to come connect with the Midcurrent family, make new friends, and enjoy one last summer celebration before the season changes. All the details (i.e. location, food, activities, MC apparel sale, etc) and registration are available HERE or on the Church Center App. This is shaping up to be a really special time for our whole church to be together. It won’t be the same without YOU!
2. On Sunday morning, August 30, I’ll continue in our series on the wisdom in the book of Proverbs. And we’ll have the opportunity to thank and honor Josh O’Meara who will be leading us in worship one last time. If you haven’t heard, earlier this summer, Josh’s time on the MC staff concluded as he began pursuing a new career opportunity in the trades. While his weekly responsibilities ended a month ago, he kindly offered to lead worship on Sunday mornings in the month of August to help ensure a smooth transition. We are grateful to Josh for helping us bridge the gap and for setting up Rhea and Sam Yang to pick up the worship leading baton as we head into a new season of ministry at Midcurrent.
We have only two more weeks of our two service summer schedule, so we’ll see Sunday at 9:00am or 10:30am (and hopefully Saturday night at the party too)!
Thanks,
Sten
