Staff Transition

Hey Midcurrent,

I have some sad news to share with you today.

Josh O’meara has submitted his resignation, and his last Sunday as a member of the MC staff will be on July 26. While his weekly responsibilities on our team will conclude on the 26th, Josh has kindly offered to lead worship on Sunday mornings during the month of August in an effort to help us bridge the gap between now and whatever comes next.

This all makes for a quick transition, yes, but Josh has had an opportunity presented to him to explore a new pathway in the trades that he would like to take advantage of believing it may be a great fit for him in this next season of his life.

This news and career shift for Josh may be unexpected for you, but we want you to know that we are fully supportive of him and this opportunity that he is pursuing. Over the past couple of months, we have been in fruitful discussion with Josh about the intricacies of his role, as well as the realities of a calling to full time vocational ministry in the church. And so while we are sad to see him go, we do trust that God has been helping him to discern what is best for him at this time in his life.

There are still a handful of details to iron out for both the short term and the long term future of the worship ministry at Midcurrent. We are working diligently to create a plan that will best serve our church, and we’ll be sure to keep you informed along the way.

For now, here is all you need to know. We love Josh, we’re cheering for him in this next chapter, and we are incredibly grateful for the ways he has lead our worship and production teams. He has taken both to new levels of faithful and effective ministry, and under his leadership, each team has had a significant impact on all of our efforts to create opportunities for real people and a real God to meet.

When you see Josh next, be sure to thank him for his tremendous influence at Midcurrent and wish him the best with this new opportunity he is exploring.

Thanks,
Sten
