We’re better together!

Hey Midcurrent,

Yesterday was my three kids’ last day of school, which means that today is the first day of summer! Yes, technically the first official day of summer is not until June 21, but for every parent with kids in school, summer starts when school ends… am I right?? Either way, it’s summer in my book.

And if you were in church this past Sunday, you heard our newest staff member, Sam Yang (who crushed his first Sunday as our service host), remind you that summer shouldn’t be considered the off-season in the life of the church. It really is just the pre-season to all that we believe God is going to do this fall and in the year to come. With this in mind, I have two invitations for you today to stay engaged with your faith this summer.

  1. Small Groups: On Sunday morning, summer group options will be LIVE on the Church Center app (or the Sign Up tab at midcurrentchurch.org). We have a number of different group options and meeting times, all designed to help you take another step in your relationship with Jesus and in your relationships with others at Midcurrent.
  2. Sunday mornings: This Sunday, June 7, we’re kicking off a brand-new three-week message series called Quiet Quitting. Recent studies have identified an increase in working professionals who do only the minimum requirements of their job and put in no more time, effort, or enthusiasm than absolutely necessary. It’s been referred to as “quiet quitting.” So, for the next three weeks, we’ll borrow from this recent corporate phenomenon to learn about the dangers of a similar sort of apathy creeping into our spiritual lives. If your faith feels stagnant or your spiritual life is not what you hoped it would be, these three weeks could be the jumpstart you’ve been waiting for.

All in all, let’s stay connected this summer, believing that God is preparing us for a year like no other!

See you Sunday!
