December at Midcurrent

Hey Midcurrent,

I don’t know about you, but I love December! I really do believe that it is one of the most wonderful times of the year. There is something about the lights, the trees, the traditions, the decorations, and the music that puts a smile on my face. And if you’re anything like me, then I’ve got some good news for you. We’ll have all of that going on this month at Midcurrent! The trees and lights and decorations are set, and we’ll start to sing many of your favorite Christmas classics.

This Sunday, we’re also kicking off a new three week series that will simply be an exploration of the birth of Jesus as it is told in the first couple chapters of the book of Matthew.  The stories never change, but I am convinced that behind each of the stories are countless easy-to-miss details that will make the good news of the Christmas story come to life in a whole new way.

If you want to get a jump start, I’ll be looking at the first 17 verses of Matthew chapter 1. You might be surprised to learn that this long list of hard to pronounce names may actually provide for you the encouragement that you need most of all!

One final reminder, too!  This coming Sunday is your last Sunday to return Christmas presents for the families we’ve sponsored through Operation Help. If you can’t make it on Sunday, you have till Monday the 8th at 1:00pm to bring all unwrapped presents (with their tag) back to Midcurrent! Thank you so much for helping to make Christmas special for these families!

Looking forward to having you kick off the Christmas season with us on Sunday!
