A recent study by the Barna research group found that one-in-three practicing Christians have stopped attending church during COVID-19. They defined “practicing Christians” as those who “identify as Christian, agree strongly that faith is very important in their lives and attend church at least monthly (prior to COVID).” Among this group of people, they discovered that 32% were currently NOT attending church in-person OR online. If that is true of any of you reading this email, I have one thing to say to you. I totally get it!!
This last year has been unlike anything we have ever experienced before, and it has made so many parts of life confusing and complicated–church included. Well, for those of you who have made the decision to begin re-engaging in the broader community around you, I want to invite you back to Midcurrent this Sunday–NO QUESTIONS ASKED! You don’t have to apologize, supply an adequate excuse, or answer to anyone about what it is you have been up to for the last year. We just want to see you again! And more than anything, we want you to know that you matter to us, and you matter to God.

We’re kicking off a brand new message series called Dangerous Prayers. I truly believe our lives could change dramatically if we began to pray some big bold prayers. And by big and bold, I don’t mean long and lengthy. In fact, what I really mean is short and simple. Over the next three weeks I’ll share three two-word prayers that could change everything.

Directly following the worship experience is Scoop of Summer. Once we wrap up inside, we’ll head outside for subs, ice cream, and tons of activities for kids (young and old) to enjoy. We want to do everything we can reactivate this community that has been growing now for almost four years. So we’re throwing a summer party to do just that, and it will not be the same without you!
